You can tell a lot about a person by examining what they like – or so we’ve been told. Check out the list below for some of my favorite things to learn a little more about me.
Wondering about something you don’t see below? Shoot me an email and I just might add it to the list!
Fiction Books: Wuthering Heights by Emily Brontë, Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen, and What Do You Do With an Idea? by Kobi Yamada
Nonfiction Books: Writing Ourselves Whole: Using the Power of Your Own Creativity to Recover and Heal from Sexual Trauma by Jen Cross, INFJ Revolution by Lauren Sapala, and Eats, Shoots & Leaves by Lynne Truss
Foods: Salmon and avocado sushi, raw kale with lemon, and lima beans
Drinks: Coffee in the morning, Sleepytime tea before bed, and lemon-ginger tea in between
Color: Burnt orange, like the color of autumn blaze maple leaves in the fall
Season: Fall, though spring has recently become a contender
Writing Implement: Not clear-cut! I love writing with my Blackwing Pearl for most occasions. However, keeping the point sharp can become distracting, so I prefer a smooth-writing pen (like my Baron Fig Squire) for longer writing sessions.
Editing Method: By hand with red ink
Songs: This one is hard because I like so many different types of music depending on my mood and what I’m doing, but I’ll try to narrow it down. Just about everything by Five Finger Death Punch, Bad Wolves, Linkin Park, Shinedown, or Train, but if I have to pick just a few songs right now, I’d go with Gone Away, When the Seasons Change, and Coming Down by Five Finger Death Punch, Remember When by Bad Wolves, and, when I’m in the mood for something achingly, movingly beautiful, just about anything by the Brooklyn Duo.
Hobbies: Aside from reading and writing, I enjoy hiking, rock climbing, riding my bike, dance parties with my kids, the occasional jog, knitting, playing my flute, swimming, and scenic drives through the mountains
Stress-busters: A grueling yoga session in the private yoga space my husband carved out of our bedroom for our 15th wedding anniversary, followed by a quiet walk in the woods.
